When I was young, I can remember going to visit/and receiving relatives etc... everyone got into a tiss, because visitors were coming....the Lounge was opened up, the best china was put out, different food. You had to be more polished and washed, behind the ears springs to mind, and best clothing etc was worn.....
Maybe I had an odd philosophy for one so young, why not have this everyday, because it is good to live with an open happy house and so on....that ment you looked after yourself and your home and life because it can always have visitors and openess....................
What I am getting at is this....had Dover and its leaders a different angle on this....
Most of the best parts, and buildings are left, left, left and left to rot....and then as a wise citizen of Dover said....."They" are very good at leaving things closed up and rotting to just pull them down......Never have they done regular and day to day care.....no respect for past buildings and the Town's wonderful history....
Just pull it down and leave......if you look at the older photos of Townwall street the buildings etc....and most of the rotting Dover....other towns have done much better.....
We have rot at the top.................and why all this effort and secrecy (well it is't) for one event when the Town should be a pleasure anyway, if care had been taken all along....
