have now seen 5 in different locations in dover all by the banks of the river in the last week.
waited patiently to get a picture of one this morning by the riverside centre but he kept darting between two bushes.
big lad as well, stick him in the vindaloo and he would fed a family of four with enough leftover for sandwiches on the morrow.
The ones at the railway station are quite impresive as well

The car park used by the fishermen next to the Admiralty Pier is a regular spot for rats, saw at least 20 all round a waste bin there about 3 weeks ago.

It was middle of the night and they were all over the bin, no doubt dicscarded food in there. They are often seen scuttling across the beach entrance and one boat owner takes his terrier there ratting. Notice there are pest control boxes dotted around now and I did not see any this evening/

Some years ago I was chatting to a couple of guests having breakfast at the table in our front window. Opposite is a brick wall over the entrance to the culvert which diverts the Dour under the old cinema. To my horror a large rat crawled up the wall and started slowly along the top. To my even greater horror another one came from the other end of the wall and they moved towards each other. Within a few seconds they were mating furiously in full view. Fortunately I was able to distract our guests until the rats had done the business and run away back to the river. Not an event I wanted to see reported in an online review!

Peter
that could have been an episode from Fawlty Towers!
Good old Dover. What has Canterbury got the can attract Cruise passengers and tourists when we have rutting rats, comatose and/or profane derelicts in Pencester Gardens and falling masonry?
