I must say it has been very grim here today .I was so cold at one point i nearly went to bed .I was able to boil water for a cup of tea as my cooker has a gas hob .I walked round to my sons just after three and
he had decided we would all go to The Railway Bell where we received a very warm welecome .Lovely roast dinner .
They had been busy suppling the Nursing homes with flasks of hot water so the residents could have a warm drink .
The Mill were lucky to have power .The lunch for over 80 people at the Methodist Church went ahead as they have a gas cooker ,however they were without heat and light .

We now have a large generator art the sub station top of our road and I understand there is another in Minnis Lane .
Im surprised that people have put their Christmas Lights on .Did not live through the three days weeks and unprepared power cuts .
I recall it well my husband was away working and i had to use candle light .Ihad two children under five so it was hard work .
I must be getting old as i cannot stand the cold these day
The hot air on here could have heated our street .
