Shame they didn't knock down the building behind it.

What is in that building these days? Is it still a telephone exchange?

As a kid, that building was our first encounter with just one door but a ton of doorbells (and an intercom). The urge to ginger knock it was just irresistible.

I still miss the short-cut that you used to be able to take by going behind what was Rooks and headed towards Ladywell. It still seems daft to me that that is closed off.

Oh damn. Typed all of that and have just realised that the building I am reminiscing about is not the one pictured. I was thinking of the one behind the bowling green as you look from that angle. (i.e. the ex telephone exchange. Does anyone know if that is still a telephone exchange?)

And...What is that building pictured? The ground floor is obvs a car park but I have never had an inkling what goes on above it.
