The facts are in the link with £350,000 committed to the "Love Dover" project and £50,000 to keep the Town Hall from falling down before the big money comes in a few years hence that will fully renovate the ancient building including holiday lets that will fund its future.

With news like this I can't see council spending going down any time soon. Supply and demand and all that.

Having just read comments re the DTCs increase in their precept. When will the general public understand that council tax goes to three authorities, plus Fire Service and Policing.
I had to explain to someone the other day what part of the tax goes on education.DTC spend money on hospitality trips cermonial etc.In other words the frills .

There are many that still think because they pay their council tax to DDC that they keep it all.

If each recipient sent out their own invoices for their share of the council tax I wonder who the public would think was ripping them off? My guess would be the police service.

It's a fair cop.
