Reason #18,400 not to buy the Mail. That's the approximate number of front pages during my life so far.

We?
Who can this 'we' be? The Worshipful (company of) Endowment brokers? The Insurance Management Fee-earners Association?
What creditable advantage could there ever be in swapping NHS bureaucracy for the secret cabal of mutually-beneficial-actuaries?

We need to get past our sentimental attachment to the NHS for the NHS' sake and accept that it is not the best healthcare system in the world.
If we dare to look out beyond the shores of our tiny insular homeland we might see that there are other systems - e.g France and Germany - that are run on different lines to the NHS and are, frankly, superior. The NHS ruins far too many lives and is a lumbering monolith. Wake up and smell the coffee, Britain.
I give you a round of applause, Andrew!

Me too.
Too many believe that the NHS must never change, we must remember that change can be for the better. Admittedly the new plans might not be better but if they are not tried we will never know.
