The post you are reporting:
You are right Keith, most posters don't give a monkeys about how old Elton is. Or any other fathers, for that matter. But if you thought age was the only issue we were going to debate on this thread, then you were being (perhaps deliberately?) a little naive.
Parenting is all about responsibilities, not rights, in the sense that nobody has an absolute right to have children; yet those who choose to, and are able to, have an absolute responsibility to their offspring to be good parents. Elton and David have chosen to do so, through the medium of money, (it being biologically impossible without the Californian rent-a-womb scheme) and they now take on that responsibility. In their favour is their stable relationship, certainly far more stable than most showbiz marriages. The world will watch the next 20 years of this family's life with fascination and there will be times when they may wish it had all been kept secret. But the deed is done, and we should all, whether we approve or disapprove of gay parenting, wish them all the best, for the sake of the child. They will need it - not everyone is as broadminded as we are on this forum.
