As the recession belt tightens around the UK economy. Even the normally protected food sales have fallen,along with electrical and white goods.A rise in fuel prices,inflation and pay freezes are to blame and are biting hard for the poor consumer.
Ed Balls is asking for a cut in VAT to boost the economy but the last VAT cut cost the government £12 billion in lost revenue.
So its the same old problem.... we all know we have to pay off our debts its just the speed of repayment which is causing the rift between the coalition and the opposition.
All this on the day after the Greek economy took a nose dive and it could pull down Germany and France unless yet more money is loaned to bail them out.Who was it that said.. ''beware of Greeks bearing gifts'' maybe that should read ''begging bowls''.
