    we have more police officers than ever , the only time this is visibly the case is when they are out on a revenue gathering exercise or a demonstration.

    keith is right, getting rid of p.c.s.o.'s will not mean that they will be replaced by all-singing,all-dancing coppers.

    the home secretary straight after the election said that officers would be freed up to do police work, much paperwork being cut.


    i will not hold my breath.
