  Newt Newt, like King Canute.
  
  Newt Gingrich is trying to stem the tidal wave of Romneyism which has found its head again and is surging forward and sweeping Republican America. But Newt Newt like King Canute, cannot stop the tide, and most definitely cannot stop this particular tide.
  
  Mitt is flying high once again after a brief hiccup mid campaign....when his tax position hit the buffers. But he has overcome.... probably because his opposition is weak. But those sweet looking good looks are seducing the Republican voter bigtime now..romping home in Nevada as we see in Howards post above.
  
  What can Newt do..what can the other contenders do, well the answer is , not much. And its all to do with money.
  
  Mitt Romney had 57Million Dollars in his war chest starting out on the campaign trail and he has spent half of it..But he has also the potential for more. His financial tap is still running. Newt Gingrich on the other hand is dirt poor in comparison ( although poor is a relative term in this instance) and is down to his last 2 Million Dollars. Now, 2 Million Dollars is no good. Wont buy you zip air time.
  
  So as we know, money plays a huge part in American Politics and with Newts puny sum, it looks like 'game over'. Unless he can do a Lazarus and resurrect himself from the dead in a 21st century miracle. But it looks unlikely.
  
  One last note...arent the sums spent horrific? In a time of austerity with people losing jobs, nurses being laid off etc etc...this kind of money can still be found to fritter away on froth. There is truly a tier of super rich where recession never bites.
