  Whilst the primaries are, even more than usual, a truly unedifying spectacle they have at least successfully demonstrated to the rest of us (if not the US voters yet) all that is truly obnoxious, corrupt and just downright wrong with with the modern Republican Party. They are a hideous collection of xenophobes, homophobes, misogynists, who seem to feel totally comfortable pouring vitriolic contempt on huge swathes of their own citizens.
  
  The jockeying for the French Presidential election next year is much more fun, particularly as almost without exception it looks like the poisonous midget will be thrashed by whoever wins through to the latter stages (the most notable exception being the Le Pen woman)
