I had a registered letter from Renault yesterday saying that there was a safety recall on my car,for loss of breaking efficiency ,which is a bit worrying,so I phoned KAP Folkesteone, but they did not know anything about it,but after a while it was discovered that my name & address does not appear on their data bass,so I had to register with them, which is not very surprising as i brought the car from "D.P Lead,After a long phone call,I am taking it in on Monday,it is going to take hour & half just to look at ,but it will have to go back in for the job to be done. not too sure how to get to ross way in folkestone,so i will leave home a bit early to I can get lost first. Can't see why it can not be done all in one go,instead of going back again.

I went over to K.A.P in Folkestone on Monday it took them one & half hours to look at it & they have said that the breaks are defective,so I had to take it back in today (Wednesday) after about two hours they came & told me that they had a problem, the have broken a bracket that hold the brakes & the break berrings, but hey have not got the parts, but my car can not be driven,so have lent me a Ford K.A,to start with I hate ford's this one is a three door ,the peddles are very close together, the hand brake is set back too far. & to top it off I will to put petrol in it. I have to ring them on Thursday afternoon to find out when the will be back.
I was told that the problem affects all Renault cars for the past two or three years, good job it is under warenty

They must be some car buffs out there after I asked K.A.P. if they could send me something to tell me what they had done to my car they sent me a letter this morning. I t could have written in some odd language it states " carry out Renault recal lloss of
breaking efficiency carried out manufacturers safety recall. Now here is the bit i don't understand "confirm obvw & obvq & recalls are required -obvw & requires replacement of n/sr wheel bearing
Has any body know what all the abrevation mean.

They appear to be Renault ref numbers Roger. Try this site
http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/searches/expand.asp?uniqueID=75806BF9CFAAC40B80257D1F00419BFE
P.s. Google 'Renault' and the ref number for the details.

Do nothing and nothing happens.
