An 'online' service?

The government banning veterans from attending church, the police handing out £200 fines?

What's happening here? It makes 'They mingle not with their laughing comrades again' a sick joke.
My Dad gave his best years to WWII, and he believed he was fighting
against tyranny. These Tory and Labour managerialists and their deranged arse-saving scientists couldn't hold a candle to those who did likewise. Sodding cowards. I know where I'll be taking my exercise at 11 tomorrow, and it won't be in front of a computer.

It has to be done the veterans like myself are getting old and very easy to get pneumonia so doing what was done will help not to get it and they will be on their way to see and do it next year and I hope many years to come, I was not in the war so I did not do or see what they done all I know we lost 1000s of young men so lets try and keep the ones that are still with us safe.

A photo taken three days ago at the war memorial.Sadly the number of crosses placed this year is less than usual but well done Dover British Legion and helpers for sustaining this annual tribute,also to individuals,one of whom I observed placing a wreath at the memorial privately in advance when being unable to do so on Sunday.We will remember them.Come what may,we will remember them.

Please explain how throwing old people out of a church service and making them stand outside will help to stop them getting pneumonia.
Your memory must be slipping if you've forgotten that Remembrance has always taken place at a time of year when respiratory viruses are circulating. Nobody before used that as an excuse to ban services. Surely veterans know all about risk, and can make their own decisions.

I have been down to the seafront this morning for a early walk.
Very nice to see Neil Rix and his team have the Solider up and running with the poppies flying around inside.
Talking to one of Neil's team down there. DHB gave lone of the generator to run this.
Nice to see local business helping. Well done and Thank You.

Noticed the poppies were flying around yesterday. Although it seems many are stuck in the bottom?

Who are these men who march so proud
Who quietly weep eyes closed head bowed
These are the men who once were boys,
Who missed out on youth and all it's joys.
Who are these men with aged faces;
Who silently count the empty spaces
These are the men who give their all,
Who fought for their country for freedom for all.
Who are these men with sorrowful look
Who can still remember the lives that were took
These are the men who saw young men die
The price of freedom is always high.
Who are these men in the midst of pain,
Whispered comfort to those they would not see again
These are the men whose hands held tomorrow,
Who brought back our future with blood tears and sorrow.
Who are these men who promise to keep alive in
Their hearts the ones God holds asleep.
These are the men to whom I promise again;
'Veterans' my friends - I will always remember them.
This poem was written in 1996 by a twelve year old girl.

I will always remember those who died or were injured be it in or out of conflict, those who really matter and care should not need some public service to remind them.
I found last night's Remembrance event on tv far more poignant because of its simplicity.

Never in the field of political insincerity has so much cognitive dissonance been shown to the many by the few.
