    I can only think that somebody at FIFA thinks there is something triumphalist about the day which is incorrect in the extreme as my understanding is that originally after the great war only our dead were commemorated but gradually we have had the second world war and various conflicts before and since and it is now a service of remembrance for all those that have died in same.
