Since that picture was taken concrete has been poured, in a few days the top layer of tarmac will be added. At last the shops will have parking space outside. All the businesses have suffered a decline in trade in the last few weeks. Deliveries have been a nightmare.
It's not over yet though, soon the next section will be done from Churchill Street to Beaconsfield. The gas main will then cross the main road to other side creating an even worse chicane.

But smaller retailers who are just breaking even, or just making the best of poor market conditions, really feel the impact of such restricted use of the car.email: dover7@msn.com

I give it 20 days...before the MacAlpine Fusiliers decide that something is amiss and there is still good council money to be had and conned out of some gullible poorly educated non professional unopposed elected town ,district, parish or mothers union knitting group councillor by quoting water tables,heatwave or time travel in order to justify the re-digging of the aforementioned trench.Marek
