  The powers that be think that 10 grand will sort out each town, probably the fees of a quarter consultant to tell us how to spend it.

  This is the access scheme to bid for the big money pots.
  
  We have had two big grants over the past decade.
  
  The first that delivered the Castle & seafront improvements. The second was the Hadlow\ Betteshanger mining Heritage scheme. Two schemes that saw £6.5m direct government grant funding with another £4m matched from other bodies.

  This is not the only thing that is happening for Dover. We also had the announcement of an additional initiative last week - http://www.bitc.org.uk/programmes/healthy-high-streets/healthy-high-streets-towns - really important to get some of our high street stalwarts involved more intimately in revitalisation of our existing town centre and working in conjunction with the Town Team and the new Coastal Community Team.
