- 4 February 2015 18:51278200The problem we have here the younger generation do not recycle.The amount of them just put everything in a black bag.
The only issue I have is the black boxes which DDC suppy for the paper/cardboard are never empted fully.
mine is outside and when it,s rains the paper all sticks to the box. 
I think it will not be long before DDC will start to weigh our bins and charge by the amount we rubbish which they collect.
With regards Howard,s post I think it will be interesting.

I agree with Stu the youngsters in the bedsits next door do not seem to bother with recycling possibly because of the reason just given.-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Paper blowing down the road. The only time we see a road sweeper is when the council tax is due.
I understand KCC get payment for the recycled materials so why don,t they send a sweeper behind the lorries to clear the mess which is sometimes dropped ?

4 February 2015 19:42278206Agreed you see litter pickers on Whitfield hill frequently and always in town. Credit where due though after those really strong winds earlier in year on our bin day! we had all the rubbish cleared by litter picker next day. Whether they took it from surpluses to encourage more recycling or they received a Government agency grant I am unsure.

we were told not to put lids on black boxes or they would not be emptied, however most of the street no longer have them as theyve been blown away and smashed up.
I just take mine to the recycling skip on next trip to a supermarket saves chasing my box and rubbish around the streets.Arte et Marte
