A NEW LOOK FOR THE RAMADA HOTEL DOVER AFTER MAJOR REFURBISHMENT
The Ramada Hotel Dover is undergoing a major refurbishment which will enhance its reputation as one of the leading branded four star hotels in East Kent.
The upgrade is costing half a million pounds and is being undertaken by one of the UK's top interior designers. The improvements include a new restaurant, bar and lobby, together with the installation of flat-screen TVs and a new guest information system in all 68 bedrooms.
The hotel, which is just off the A2 at Whitfield, is run by Leaf Hotels, which also owns two other successful hotels in East Kent, including the beachfront Best Western Dover Marina Hotel & Spa which opened on 25 March.
The fine dining restaurant - called The Olive Tree - will reopen on 15 April and is large enough to cater for weddings and other events for up to 130 guests. In addition to fine dining, the new restaurant will continue to offer its popular themed evenings.
General manager Gehan Dias-Bandaranaike said the investment would help the hotel to meet its long-term objective of gaining two to three dining rosettes and gave local people and visitors to Dover the opportunity to enjoy using a fine dining venue.
He said: "This refurbishment will enhance our reputation as one of the only prestigious branded four star hotels in East Kent and will enable the Ramada Hotel Dover to continue serving local, corporate and leisure clients alike by offering competitive prices, excellent service and a warm welcome.
"The opening of The Olive Tree will see the launch of a new weekly theme night. Every Friday will be Spice Night. For £18.95 one can enjoy a three-course dinner choosing from an array of mouth-watering Indian dishes. The new restaurant will still have our very popular Sunday carvery lunches starting from £12.95 for two courses and our Italian nights every Wednesday evening at £16.95 per person for a buffet dinner featuring show cooking," added Mr Gehan Dias-Bandaranaike.
The refurbishment work is being undertaken by award-winning interior design practice Nicholas Hollinshead Interiors, which Leaf Hotels also used for the renovation of the Best Western Dover Marina Hotel & Spa.
The Ramada Hotel Dover is in Singledge Lane, Whitfield, Dover, a couple of minutes from the port and cruise terminals. It caters for weddings, meetings and conferences, plus theme nights and fine dining parties, private dining and other functions.
The Ramada Hotel Dover has 68 bedrooms, including 19 family and 12 executive rooms, a Costa Coffee lounge, two meeting rooms, free WiFi internet access, free guest car and coach parking, a business centre and mini gym. The hotel also has a Grand Marquee for weddings and banquets which is one of the biggest in East Kent accommodating up to 300 guests.
