Totally, jaw-clangingly outrageous if this appalling plan goes ahead - large-scale ticket office closures at railway stations - including on our manor Deal, Walmer, Sandwich, Folkestone West, Aylesham and Kearsney among literally hundreds of others on the McNulty Report hitlist.

Great timing for Deal and Sandwich too - on the very day the two towns run their inaugural high-speed train services to St Pancras. How utterly spiffing. Brilliant. Visionary.

One hopes that Charlie Elphicke and Laura Sandys, on hand yesterday to bask in some of the (deserved) adulation for getting these services up and running, now fight vigorously to consign to the dustbin this typically cack-handed, stroke-of-a-pen, faceless-mandarin nonsense, with the heavy stench of that bastard Beeching about it.

Come on and speak up against this now, Charlie, Laura, Damian Collins, etc. Or cue the alternative: massive inconvenience, danger, vandalism, decline, plus many other safety and security issues, and a major negative impact on passengers' (and your constituents') travel experience and quality of life. And then when it's all fallen apart, the stations will fall foul of the accountants' bottom line, and then they will close. Lovely.

    Regards all,

    Andy
