On Friday I went up to Curzon Hall for the Vote for it session,as I was talking to a friend of mine near Dickson Road a young lad came up and said have you got a phone on you as there is going to be a big fight around the corner,I said no but was just about to meet the PSCO so I shot round the road and by the South Road shop was over 50 children on each side of the road.
Just then Cllr Ronnie Philpott came along and I said there is going to be a fight,we both put our Council badges on,just really to show who we were,Ronnie went into the Shop and one lad came out and said there is a lady from the Council in there keeping her eye on us,I said there is a man from the Council out here doing the same.
Just then the PSCO drove past and parked in Curzon Road,and at that second a lad ran past me and thumped another lad,I went in and broke them up and the 2 lads went seperate ways.Th e agressor towards the PSCO's and I followed him pointing him out,all the other children gathered around,so Ronnie and I tried to persuade them to go home,one of the PSCO's stood with the lad who had been hit and waited for his parent to come and pick him up.The other refused to give his name but in true Dad's Army fashion his mate said ..don't tell her your name Patrick (name changed).What worried me is if there weren't enough People and the PSCO's around what would have happened.
