The post you are reporting:
Thought I'd share this with you.
Tuesday this week, Jean and I had the honour to go to the Queen's Garden Party at Buckingham Palace and what a beautiful day it was.
Picked up at home and taken to the Palace; it was the first time that Jean and I had been inside the Palace and grounds and a lovely experience it was too. Walking through the gates of Buckingham Palace was grand enough, but walking across the forecourt then into the Palace and through to the inner courtyard and through the Palace again and out on to the gardens at the rear.
We found a space to relax and take afternoon tea - cucumber and ham finger-sandwiches; the desserts were to die for.
We did see the Queen, from just a few feet away, but we didn't get to speak to her; the equerries were out and about looking for special people to introduce to her Majesty, sadly, not us - not special enough obviously.
The weather was perfect too.
At the Royal Tea-tent, the various members of the Royal Family congregated - Prince Charles (so much shorter than I thought he was) and Camilla; Kate was there too, looking beautiful, but no William; Prince Phillip wasn't there either.
Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, were also there .
A lovely day; it was great just being there.
If you are invited and given the oppportunity, do take it.
Roger
