I'd be interested to hear what possible constructive comments could arise from a situation where public toilets have been closed without notice or obvious reason. It strikes me that the only good that can come from this is that Dover Town Council may yet end up with responsibility for them instead of Dover District Council who don't seem - pardon a dreadful pun here - to give a s**t.

Even the most basic 'A' level course will tell you, David, that Politics & Economics are inextricably linked, and your plea to leave politics out of this are rather naive, I feel. And, as a Town Councillor yourself, do you not feel that the closure of the toilets immediately behind Maison Dieu House is, in itself, a huge political gesture from a desperate District Council?
