Well I have been to bed and it a bit like Ground Hog Day .Some people on here only read what they want to see .John what makes you think the DDC council tax will go up by 4.9% The budget meeting has not been held yet and more than likely the capping will be at 3.% this year..You are a lovely guy but you do not understand the figures .

To go back in time many years ago when DDC could set the rent levels with no interference from central government we used to have a paper clearly stating what effec t rent increases would have .

The Labour councillors failed to see if you only had 2.% increase tenants would not get many improvements to their homes however if they went up by 10% the improvemrnts would be very good .Considering at that time 70% of tenants got a rebate the increases did not effect them
When the Labour administration took over and rent levels were set much lower the back log of maintenance grew yeaer by year and gradually our stock did not reach Decent Homes standard .Whar a legacy
