  I have no doubt there is more to come and I have stated too many times now that previous Governments must take their share of the blame.
  But come on, how long are you going to drag the Brown card out, that wore out long ago.
  
  This Government has a smash & grab policy and even some Tories are beginning to distance themselves for that reason.
  
  Why has nothing been done at council level to stop outside contractors adding extra to quotes, above the norm, when it comes to council contracts and why are heads of council departments still wasting money every year after year, for fear of losing next year's budgets?
  
  Both taboo and probably both will be denied but everyone knows it still happens.
  
  Cutting funding to core services such as respite care without tackling these two problems first, is where I think the woolly un- fairness is unacceptable.
