If you run a car (and tax it, and insure yourself, and pay for fuel, and book an annual MoT, and perhaps a service, and take it to the car wash every now and again for a nice shampoo and rinse, and buy a box of tissues to place on the rear shelf, and a few CDs and a bag of sweets to put in the glove box, and maybe a pair of fluffy dice to hang from your rear-view mirror) then you really shouldn't object to paying to park the thing, any day of the week. After all, with the noise motor vehicles create, and the pollution they inflict on our environment and our bodies, and the resources they use up, and the space they take up, and the fearsome injuries and deaths their drivers cause, parking charges are surely a comparatively small thing to worry about.
