Unfortunately as a Guston resident I can firmly agree with the comments made by Arthur and Andy. Residents here in our parish are sick to death of being forced to accept the planning decisions by central government (IBF) KCC (Dover Fastrack) and DDC (monstrosity of new builds that are being chucked together on The Officers Mess site). All of these planning decisions have not taken a true democratic process into account. We are now faced with an added burden of a crematorium when the road infrastructure on A2, Whitfield roundabout and DofE roundabout cannot cope on a normal working day, add to that an IBF, Connaught Barracks development, Fast track which is meant to be a green initiative oh but we forgot to mention HGVs will be using the new road for access/exit and we have a whole wave of additional traffic on these already stretched roads. It’s a joke. So no mention of a crematorium in the recent local plan, but DDC have met with architects to look at a possible design, the land in Pineham was purchased and sealed in Nov 21 and a decision is yet to be made- yeah ok, DDC just let us residents know once the deal has been sealed and you can then offer a tick box exercise of a consultation that is completely meaningless . Oh and to top it off this site would further destroy the North Downs Way!
