This will be on flat scrubland with provision for social housing and GPs surgery but I bet there will be a concerted effort by locals to block it.

Up to 43 social rented dwellings? That'll be one then.

15 people have posted their views on the planning website and all objecting, the word village keeps cropping up. I go through there often and I just see it as a long sprawl of bungalows tacked on the end of Folkestone. Only one shop there I believe, a pub at either end and another closer to the cliffs(very nice I hasten to add) but no actual central feature to it.

I think a lot people regard the Village Hall and sports facilities as the centre. End of Capel street open fields .Very good farmers market .

There is more to Capel than can be seen from a bus. Definitely not just "a long sprawl of bungalows" there were several shops (long closed I expect) in the nice old part of the village as well as some cottages and the primary school when I lived there many years ago

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

One has to negotiate side turnings to discover the village hall and the excellent outdoor leisure area Sue, so hardly a central point.

Those side turnings are such a nuisance

Years ago probably it was the centre. In my view the heart of the village is where people meet for events .

This is the same developer planning to build in Capel, will have to wait and see whether a rush of letters of support suddenly flood in.
