Following the disappointment of losing funding for the last training scheme, I am very pleased to inform you of a new partnership that EKR have made with ARC Academy UK Ltd, to continue offering an Apprenticeship Scheme to youth's from our local communities.
Leading the way, with a crucial pilot "Apprenticeship Scheme", is East Kent Railway and ARC Academy UK Ltd.
On the 28th May, Arc Academy UK Ltd, will launch a pilot scheme at the East Kent Railway's, Mining Heritage site, in Shepherdswell.
12 youth's, from our surrounding communities, are being given the chance to turn their lives around.
For them, this is the real deal, following 10 to 15 weeks, gaining as much experience and required certificates, needed to become a Rail Track worker, they will be found employment, within the Rail Industry.
Then they will be followed around the country, every 4 weeks, to carry on completing their assessments, until completion of their Apprenticeship.
With help, we can turn this pilot scheme into a long term Apprenticeship & Training Programme.
East Kent Railway can become a training site for the Railway Industry, giving much needed employment to local people and breathing new life into our communities.
The Apprenticeship Program is open to everyone, from the ages of 16 to 24, with hope in the future, for different types of training and re-training, for all age groups.
