    Totally agree Roger.

    A custody sentance should withdraw the "freedom" enjoyed by the offender- I am not advocating ball and chain but a prison should not be on a par with a hotel.

    sadly, as you say, many find living in a prison preferable to living within the community, how many reoffend to ensure the luxuries of prison that many hard working/ law abiding citizens within the community are unable to afford.

    Certainly needs addressing
