Thanks Howard for posting this. I've been in Derby all weekend and have only just picked up the email from Heidi Golden of the Communities in Partnership team (I think that's the name). I've been very lucky to have been able to let Heidi and her team get on with it. And very efficient they've been too. It's basically going to be the same as last time so turn up, get your hi viz, gloves and litter pickers and go fill those rubbish bags. Any help, even for just an hour, will be great. Then off to the Malvern where the landlady will be providing a yummy spread. Hope to see you there!

I think we are all guinea pigs in the middle of an experiment for which they have forgotten to set up a control group!

had a look yesterday jen and the alleys looked ok, the problem as stated in your letter to householders is the terrible mess at the back of some of the houses.
i suspect that people who choose to live in such conditions will not be unduly bothered whether it stays or goes therefore the i would be surprised if many will take up the offer of free removal in the letter.
hopefully i will be proved wrong.

I've been out of the loop on this for obvious reasons, so well done Jen, Heidi and I guess Una too.
I'll come and help too. I must be honest I haven't walked along the alleyways, but the last time I did, there was still a lot of dog-poo; most rubbish was in people's back gardens and they simply don't seem to care about that.

Alleyways not bad now, more mess in front of places with the untidy bins, its more like a rubbish tip, especially Folkestone Road, the bins seemed to have solved one problem but created another, what an eyesore to tourists

Just bumping this up as a reminder. Heidi has arranged for the dog poo to be cleaned up on Friday morning so hopefully it won't be as bad.
Can someone send me Steve McHugh's email address as the two I have had for him came back as no longer working.
Also, has anyone seen Roger W as he's not answering his calls and emails from me. Thank you!

I've sent you an email with the most recent email address I have of him.
Hope it's the one.

Thanks for that Roger. I've forwarded it to that email you sent me. As Steve is still officially our Treasurer I thought he should at least be aware of what we're doing. See you Saturday - don't forget the hi-viz jackets. I've got the litter pickers and Heidi will bring everything else.
