Prescription charges go up today in England to £7.10. But if you are sick often and regular then you may need to consider moving home as its not a level playing field throughout the UK.
Prescription charges are FREE in Wales and have dropped by £2 today in Scotland and will also be FREE in Scotland before too long.
Why therefore do we have to pay in England..are we sponsoring the others. Doesnt seem very fair in a UK that seems to be slowly splintering into different states.
So there you have it...and you thought all the citizens of the UK were treated the same. Not so.
Is that right Howard...only 10% are paid for ?? blimey no wonder we are in a state. Ive been in with that 10% for years then and paying all along...boy am I some kind of mug then!!?
It must be pretty expensive in Ireland as they don't have a NHS prescription service and I believe not only do they pay full charge for prescriptions but also have to pay to see the doctor, Ouch!

people get free prescriptions for all sorts of reasons, long term illness, terminal stuff, they may get a certificate if they earn below the usual level.
plus all the usual reasons.
