The other week we had the first power cut in years and it was quite amusing in a reminder of the 1970s sort of way. Now we are having another one. Whole street plus Norman St and the Angling Club. We can't all have the same supplier so what the dickens is going on? Just had a nearly power back but went off again. My poor dog is really upset and I'm just bloody annoyed! Yours, grumpy of Dover!!
I think we are all guinea pigs in the middle of an experiment for which they have forgotten to set up a control group!

It dropped further up the Folkestone Road too, but it wasn't long - about 5 minutes.
What was the dog watching Jen to be so upset ?

Think you're right Howard. Must be an area problem. Kip was watching the One Show! All back now. Thank god I kept all the candles. Will have to contact the national grid people. If there's another one soon then i'll be proper disgruntled!!!

For once Salisbury Road was ok, we usually get a cut about once a year so I know where the torch, candles and lighter are even in the dark.

Perhaps it's a campaigning tactic of the Government, letting us know what would happen if Labour got in.
Either that, or they're preparing for a Government shutdown.
Perhaps Jan should keep a cigarette lighter on the mantelpiece.

I am quite happy with my present arrangements Alexander as I know exactly where the items I mentioned previously are.

Same here in Whitfield just as we had sat down to eat. As soon as I had got the candles out it was back on.

Ray and Kath: exactly. When I lived in Shepherdswell they were a regular occurrence. Even had a power cut on Christmas Day way back when.

Kath, was that when they had to install a temporary generator near the church or was that one of the other numerous times when we had a power cut.
