    always amazes me that a small town like dover can support 2 local papers meaning both have to set out their own style to survive.

    miraculously both do with the added problem of neither having an office in dover.

    the express is much more tabloid in style reflecting the age of the staff whilst the mercury is more staid with much more community focus. a lot to do with graham's wealth of experience culminating in him reaching his 120 years unbroken service award recently.

    can't move in his house for carriage clocks.
