Postage stamp rises

  as a very irregular user of the royal mail i was rather shocked to find yesterday that the price of a first class stamp had risen to 41P.
  
  i always buy a book each of first and second class stamps and they last me for a few years, i thought the cost was around 25 pence.
  
  anyway the royal mail has just announced a hike from next april as follows:-
  
  1st class up 5p to 46p
  2nd class up 5p to 36p

  But we don't get a better service for it.if a round is on overtime mail arrives about 12.30 to 2pm then its all second class with all the money the royal mail has coming in from delivering junk mail they should be running at a profit so what are they doing with all this money Time to Privatizes. If I order anything from ebay you have to pay the postage set by the royal mail but if you want express and next day delivery pay £3.50 and UPS,get it to u in 24 hours.

  it costs 60 pence to send a christmas card to france, yet the other way around it is 17 cents.

  I must confess I didn't realise the price, I tend to get a book of first class stamps in the supermarket or wherever with other things and like Howard thought it was less.

  Same as you and Jeane Howard, I occasionally buy a book of first class stamps with no thought`s to the price of them.
  Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

  Same here, price goes up service to the customer goes down. How many companies would get away with that I wonder.
