Possible scam

  3 times this week i have come home dialld 1471 to see if anyone had rang and a number came up that started with 000 442 followed by another 9 digits.
  
  i suspect that if i rang the number it would cost me a small fortune.
  
  anyone else experienced this?

  These type of computer generated calls are soon to be ruled illegal. In the meantime ring BT and have these calls blocked

  Howard was this the number if so I found the following article
  
  The number is a "Follow Me" number issued in the UK. The service will transfer incoming calls to a designated number which may be anywhere in the world. This allows the purchaser of the number to hide their identity and even their country.
