A port toll on traffic passing through British ports should be introduced in Parliament. The revenue should be shared between the national Treasury and the local councils, in our case KCC, DDC and DTC.
The income should serve for local regeneration, and would probably mean that Dover District and Town Councils would no longer require annual government grants for their budgets.

This would be to an extent similar to motorway tolls in Europe, which we do not have in Britain.
A car could pay £5, a heavy goods vehicle £50, a bus £1 for each passenger.

The same would apply for Dover Port, the Channel Tunnel and every British commercial port. The income would finance local regeneration in the town and the District and even works on a T2 terminal at Western Docks, including a rail-link.
