Part of my well-reported spat with Mr Waggott at the September 'workshop' was over my attempt to make the point that by setting the DHB's community participation in stone prior to the appointment of community directors, they were putting the cart firmly before the horse. Now, with the general election only five months away, the DHB directors are surely fervently wishing for a change of government so that the community involvement issue can be kicked into the long grass again. I, for one, am not prepared to let that happen. Now that Stephen Hammond, the Ports minister who made the commitments about community involvement, has been moved on, I shall be writing to Claire Perry MP, his replacement in that role, to ask what she is doing about keeping momentum going.
