  Christmas is one of those periods when Network Rail can get a 4day possession of the track to carry out major remedial works. It is not the train operators fault (Southeastern in this case) as they only rent track slots from the infrastructure operator. If you wan to bitch at someone, then bitch at Network Rail.
  
  Yes Southeastern have been poor over this period of inclement weather, not in terms of running services, but most absolutely in terms of communicating with their passengers. I did note that their website today was much more informative than during the previous snow fall, so maybe they are learning.
