Thank you for your kind words Buddy. I've had a great deal of success over the years with injured birds including a blackbird which I found on the way home from Dover. It had been hit by a car and we bought it back to Essex. It survived the journey, recovered and was able to be released into the wild (I live next door to a nature reserve) about a week or so later. Sometimes they get too tame to go back outside, especially if you have them for a while. I try not to make them too dependant on me or too comfortable with humans, but I can't help myself sometimes! I too believe that all life is valid no matter what form it comes in. Even though I couldn't save it, the bird did not die alone.
