  Officers are appealing for information following a fatal collision in Deal.

  Kent Police was called at about 8.40am on Friday 31 August to a report of a two vehicle collision on Ringwould Road, in Kingsdown, close to the A258.
  
  The incident involved a dark grey/black Renault Megane and a silver Renault Clio.
  
  A man was pronounced dead at the scene and a woman was flown to a London hospital with injuries believed to be serious.
  
  Ringwould Road is currently closed in both directions while officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit investigate the fatal collision. The road could remain closed up until 2pm.
  
  Witnesses or anyone with information who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit appeal line on 01622 798538.

  So very sad to read this, just drove that exact route last Sunday on our way back from Deal.

  The road is now reopened..just had this info through from Kent Police. But if anyone has seen anything please contact the number in top post. A tragic story...always very sad to hear such news.

  Just so sad to hear news of any accident along that road, just seems to one of those roads that has a history of accidents so sad for all concerned.

  Terrible news, at some stage the road has to be upgraded, it carries a huge amount of traffic on a road designed for horse and carts.

  This wasn't on the main road, it was a country lane between Ringwould and Kingdown. I went by there about the exact time it happened but didn't see anything. Sad news...

  the press release clearly stated that it was "near" the a258 , yet kent online said it happened "in deal".
