    While for old fogies a good track record might be essential, for the youth of today;vital that they are to our future, whether we like it or not, something called 'street cred' is the order of the day.

    Do you really think that the insistence upon any future replacement being, first and foremost, acceptable to the media is the best way forward? And, she was never going to be a 'police commissioner', Ms. Barnes is that, and if a Police person was able to liaise between the forces of law 'n' order and the young such would already be a done deal. Yet you would take a Constable off the beat?
