  Harry - the whole idea is to make policing accountable instead of having council nominated police committees.
  
  Decide what type of policing you want and who is most likely to deliver that and vote for it.
  
  My view is that I hate 'liberal' law and order attitudes and consider them to be guilty of fostering a 'no blame no shame' culture with soft punishments and excessive 'uman rights. That just encourages crime and criminals. It is Labour and the LibDems who are most associated with these attitudes (though sadly the Conservative also have a few like Clarke...).
  
  I heard somewhere that the independent is a very 'soft' magistrate as well. No good for me.
  
  I want someone who wants nothing to do with such wishy washy attitudes.
