    #19 Jan and #29 Christine. It is up to the candidates to get their own names out there, meet people and promote their policies. There is no such thing as 'decent unbiased information'. You need only to see the BBC output to see that!

    As for the party label, it is just that, an indication of where a candidate's attitudes and values are and who are supporting/sponsoring and working for the candidate.

    For instance. The Conservative candidate will have been selected by a panel who want a tough no-nonsense approach to crime and who believe in proper punishment and not namby-pamby social worker solutions.

    As for specific policies then you need to read the literature that is being delivered and see what they say in the newspapers.
