I was rather hoping for Maypole dancing in the style of The Wicker Man with Morris Men when I saw the title. Oh well, how disappointing to find out it will be young ladies cavorting around.

I suppose pubs are so desperate for trade these days they have to push the boat out further to capture markets. There used to be only a couple of pubs that used have large groups play, i.e. the Louis and The Archer but now so many pubs are in on the act with at least a Kareoke or a two piece or more every Saturday. But people and money will only stretch so far...it's so disheartening to see a band play their heart out to a near empty pub but it happens all the time.

Every landlord has to try something, and I suppose pole dancing will capture some form of market. There can't be many landlords who can afford to rest on their laurels any more when there is bugger-all money about.
