  Was it ever resolved if the Maloja was mined or torpedoed? The wreck is occasionally visited by divers I believe.

  I am away at the moment but there is a description of the harrowing scenes of survivors being attended to in the Lord Warden Hotel in one of the Dover books, possibly "Dover during the dark days."

  We have so many events like this that few people know about like the one posted a few weeks ago about the sinking of a couple of German ships in the 1880s..
