I question the relevance of PMQs anyway, Sid. What's the point in asking a question that has to be submitted some time before the actual day, so that the appropriate Ministry has time to prepare a written answer/brief, plus answers for any supplementary questions that may stem from the original? Surely the whole point is to put the PM on the spot to get an answer from the horse's mouth, so to speak. In my days with the FCO, written PMQs were almost exactly the same wording as letters sent out to members of the public who had written to their MP about the topic I specialised in, as well as letters to the PM herself, and journalists who had written asking Government policy on the subject. (Pre Google days!)

PMQs is more about the performance given by the PM and Leader of The Opposition in front of their own ranks than anything about the openness of Parliament. It's an act, pure and simple.
