In the past and through public consultation the allotment site was objected to, and am positively certain they would be again. We DO need a play area urgently, but the allotments are not the solution. More and more people are turning back to growing there own food, so why take away good arable land,
Roger if you remember Municipal Charities did not want to sell the land, and hopefully and as far as i'm aware still don't, otherwise why are they in talks as to the running of the allotments, it is about time the council put a compulsive purchase order on the land at the bottom of Clarendon Street, this is an eyesore and rubbish tip for all, the owner has put in for planning to build, on numerous occasions but never does anything, a play area here would be ideal.
