This was (so I thought) an ideal location for a play-area, but the residents of Westbury Road complained because they didn't want to hear the sound of children's laughter in the summer (or anytime come to that !). I paid a visit to a couple of people in Westbury and they showed me their back garden and their entry into the allotments, they were adamant they did not want a children's play area there.

Shortly afterwards, the allotment land, which was and is, owned by the Municipal Charities of Dover, was passed over to the Town Council for them to offer for allotments; I don't know the real reason why, but the Town Council have handed them back (to the MCD).

To my mind, the proximity to houses and in the centre of a residential area, lent this to be an ideal and safe place for children to play, but you can't impose this on residents if they really don't want it. Maybe there's been a change of mind/heart ?
