To coincide with this thread a press release has just come in from the guys at DDC

    GREY WATER SOLUTIONS
TO KEEP DOVER DISTRICT IN FULL BLOOM

As we look forward to a busy and colourful summer, including events for The Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic Torch Relay, Dover District Council has been looking into ways to keep the area blooming.

With the current water restrictions, the District Council has been looking into ways to water planted and sports areas without using hosepipes, and has investigated water supplies across the district, including the River Dour, which flows through the town and disperses into the Marina. The Environment Agency has confirmed that Dover District Council can extract a restricted supply from the river.

To minimise any environmental impact on the river, 'grey water' is being taken out as close to the Marina as possible. DDC's grounds maintenance contractors have helped by hiring a large towable water container to keep journeys and disruption to a minimum.
