Interesting decision as the application for conversion to housing has been rejected but there is no indication that it will re-open as a pub.
Wonder how the Kearsney Abbey plan went?

So who was the voice in the wilderness that wanted better for Kearsney Abbey Sue?

Cllr Gardiner from Deal.My former colleague Andrew Richardson had to declare an interest.Still at least I'm firm in my convictions and still think the building should have been of a better quality, still I always want the best.I prefer Harrods but but can only afford
Woolworths,!

Someone has pointed out on "Kent Online" that the planning officer recommending the change of use for the 15th century pub in Ash runs his own planning consultancy business.

I am not suggesting anything untoward in this case But Mr Hester states on his company website that he helped to get planning permission for a change of use to land in Dover District.
If he is employed by DDC then that must be wrong but if he is just free lancing for them not as big a problem.

Will be interesting to see how the interest carries through over the next 5 months. It is one thing to protest about losing an asset of community value but quite another to find the money to buy it in a relatively short period of time.
